Is achieving net zero with current technology impossible?

In 2023, global power consumption was 20 TW, 80% of which came from fossil fuels (https://yearbook.enerdata.net/total-energy/world-consumption-statistics.html). In 2050, it will be at least 30 TW. If one assumes that all new power comes from non-fossil fuel, one must install a one GW power plant daily for the next 27 years. (10 TW /(27x365) days). i.e., One nuclear power plant of 1 GW capacity every day or 4 million solar panels of 250 W capacity every day for the next 27 years. However, their life is about 25 years, so it must be done perpetually. The above analysis indicates that we will not reach net zero using currently available technology.

We must innovate and develop new technology to meet the challenge.
